This couple fell in love in San Diego, so hiring a San Diego-based company was the right choice for them. They could be by their planner’s side, the whole stretch of the planning process. The Perfect Imperfect Venue

When looking for their perfect venue, Megan and Charlie knew they had to find something… a bit unorthodox. That’s why when they found SmogShoppe (a transformed automotive repair center turned venue space) they knew they were in love. This venue was perfect for the film buffs / nerds that were Megan and Charlie. Just below their private condor’s nest, is even a vast library. Located in the heart of La Cienaga, SmogShoppe boasts over 10,000 feet of pure uniqueness. The walls of the venue have been lushly overgrown with succulents and greenery. The roll-top walls offer breezy atmosphere to their indoor cinema and banquet hall.

The Dress, The Makeup, The Hair, & the Girls

Megan chose a unique halter dress from Rachel & Rose Bridal, to accentuate her petite frame. To keep all eyes on her, she chose an elegant updo and subtle makeup to make her eyes truly pop. This Irish lass knew how to be a stunner on her wedding day, thanks to the amazing team at Hannah Elisabeth Beauty. Her maids wore mix-matched slate and robin’s egg blue bridesmaid’s dresses from Azazie to add to the eclectic nature of the event. No stone had been left unturned for this Hollywood nerd.

The Geeky Groom

Charlie wore a very classic light gray suit with matching light blue tie. His groomsmen continued the off-beat look by adding an ombre effect of darker gray linens. As an added touch to the nerdiness that is the couple, Charlie opted for a one-of-a-kind Harry Potter inspired lapel pin instead of a traditional boutonniere.

Finest Florals in The City of Angels

Local Los Angeles floral fav, Wild Flora Design provided the bouquets for the bride and her maids. These simply stunning succulent pieces wowed guests with their architectural eucalyptus and catstail. Delphinium blue hues pop through the soft greens, and the lambs ear adds some subtle softness as well. The florals for the centerpieces were provided by a San Diego local, which is a fun tip for anyone looking for over-the-top personal flowers, but budget friendly centerpieces.

Zippadee Doo-Daa-ing Down the Aisle

Megan and Charlie chose their own eclectic mix of music to walk down the aisle to. Charlie opted for a more rock ballad, while Megan sauntered down the aisle to “Tale as Old as Time”. This couple was so excited to get married you can see the joy on their faces. Even though the bride’s song ran a beat too long, the humorous couple found the funny situation a hallmark of their event.

All in the Details

Charlie, who works as a producer of some amazing shows in Hollywood, and Megan, an avid Harry Potter fanatic and book worm, wanted to make their wedding as uniquely them as possible. We brought in custom director’s chairs for them to sit in for their speeches. Decorated their tables with atomic statuettes, notable books of Megan’s childhood, and curled up film roll (from the film American Wedding, haha!). A lot of emphasis was put on designing stationary goods since Megan’s sister (and Matron of Honor) is a graphic designer and photographer herself.

Gotta Have That In-N-Out

It wouldn’t be a Southern California wedding without In-N-Out! This burger-obsessed couple MADE SURE they had a venue that was accommodating of the 75’ semi-truck burger joint. In-N-Out was a huge smash with all of the guests. It was the perfect casual cuisine. And don’t think that this culinary behemoth would sacrifice service just because they’re based in a semi! Their amazing staff brought customized burgers out to every guest promptly! What a fun touch.

Celebrating with FunFetti!

No Unique event is complete without a little bit of fun… and by fun, I mean FunFetti! We enlisted the amazing culinary skill of Susie Cakes Bakery to make a two-tiered buttercream covered confection perfect for this fun-loving couple. To accentuate the sweetness of the event, Megan even went so far to create a candy station for her guests to nosh on while cake was being served. Individualized bags that said “Treat Yo’ Self” allowed guests to take more sweets home too.
