A Beautiful Morning

Sun shining above and birds flying overhead, Rachel and Mikael started their perfect day with confidence and joy. The day could not be more stunning. It was a beautiful June morning, when Rachel and Mikael started it off by writing in their vow books their promises to each other. Family surrounded them with joyous laughter and well wishes.

You could feel the love in the room. When planning your wedding, fill your day with supportive and happy family and friends to help ease the anxiety you may be feeling.

Rachel is a stunning bride. There is no arguing that. But on her wedding day specifically, she radiated elegance. Rachel decided on a stunning nude illusion dress with large lace appliques. Her dress laid romantically off her shoulders. Mikael donned a classic dark blue suit and linen shirt to compliment the beachy nature of the event. As their wedding planner, I accessorized them with thoughtful pieces like a masculine watch and dark blue pearls.

Choosing the Right Location

Rachel and Mikael wanted the perfect beachy location to tie the knot. Although their reception was at the incredible Carlsbad Westin, their actual ceremony took place on the beach. Standing at the cliffs, they recited their promises to each other while the sun set behind them. We planned their wedding to happen right before sunset, so their pictures captured the golden hour. It was an intimate ceremony with only their parents in attendance. The real party was happening two months later. As the wedding planner, I coordinated the events seamlessly at no extra cost to their package.

Carlsbad Wedding Flowers

As the wedding planner, myself and the amazing florist helped Rachel choose locally grown blooms for her event. The classic all-white bouquet was the perfect fit against her dress. The florist also made corsages and boutonnieres to match for the rest of the family.

The Wedding Reception

The big party happened two months later at the Carlsbad Westin. We designed the event around Rachel’s Middle Eastern heritage. Small oil lamps were placed on the table. We chose stunning gold shimmering Moda Linens (provided by BBJ Linens) and topped them with antique Arabian lace doilies. The “wow-factor” candelabras stole the show. Enticing Tables welded them individually. For the sweetheart table, we rented silver velvet mid-century modern accent chairs from Folklore Rentals to finish the look. As a wedding planner, I love bringing in specialty rentals to bring the couple’s vision alive.

Yums and Fun

Sterling Productions provided our DJ for the evening. Miguel brought the funk and seamlessly mixed together old funk classics like Earth, Wind, and Fire and EDM music (Rachel and Mikael’s favorites). Sterling also provided an incredible smoke machine to allow the couple to dance on the clouds for their first dance. Big AZ Letters also joined the party and provided Marquee LOVE letters to light up the night. Both were a huge success.

For dessert, Rachel and Mikael opted for a decadent display of custom luxury donuts from their favorite small bakery in Carlsbad. Guests noshed on eclairs, jelly stuffed donuts, and maple bars.
