As a San Diego Wedding Planner, I can’t think of a more creative location for such a unique couple. San Diego is known as a beer capital, so the Woodshed in Vista, California (right next to Booze Brothers Brewing Company), is such an amazing venue to plan your wedding at. All photos were provided by the incredible Cassy Smith Photography.
the Perfect Venue for Your San Diego Wedding
Kayla and Austin, my incredible couple, was lucky enough to tie the knot before the pandemic. They chose the Woodshed for its casual but classy nature, with intense greenery vibes. The expressive and artistic venue offers exceptional wood paneling, and a cozy, intimate space for you and your guests to enjoy a crisp, cool beer. Nearby there is even a beautiful field, where you can take amazing pictures at for an added variety of photos for your collection.

San Diego Wedding Party Gifts
Kayla and Austin started their day by getting ready at the Lakehouse Hotel in San Marcos. A beautiful venue only 3 miles away from the venue. They drank mimosas and mezcal, shared stories, and exchanged gifts with their respective parties. These unique bridal party gifts are perfect when planning your San Diego wedding. Austin surprised his groomsmen with authentic Mexican sombreros, Cuban cigars, and some liquid courage… bourbon! While Kayla gifted her maids with simply elegant satin pajama sets and custom wine glasses. These are perfect examples of how thoughtful gifts can really mean something to your bridal party.
Calligraphy in San Diego
One of my favorite vendors in San Diego / Temecula / Orange County is the amazing Shelby Huber of Shelby Creative Designs. Kayla and Austin opted for an over the top statement chalkwall at their venue for guests to take pictures with. This was an alternative to a traditional photobooth. They provided Polaroid cameras, props, and costumes, for their guests to enjoy with the wall. The design of the chalkwall was heavily inspired by their botanical invitation suite they created on Minted. Such a great idea for your simply stunning San Diego wedding.
San Diego Wedding Flowers, Centerpieces, and Bouquets
To set the mood correctly, the couple went with an amazing florist in San Diego, Kendra Gomez of Kendra’s Floral Design. She meticulously chose architectural flowers in moody colors to match the black and mixed metal vibe perfectly at the venue. Kayla and Austin were so happy with the greenery on the tables—which matched the vibrant greenery on the venue walls amazingly. I highly recommend Kendra when planning your awesome San Diego wedding.
the Perfect Food for a San Diego Wedding
Criscito’s Pizza was the food du jour at the beautiful wedding of Kayla and Austin. The guests awed at the handmade brick-oven pizza cooked onsite. It was the perfect “wow-factor” for even the pickiest of eaters. For dessert, the couple opted for a variety of confections from the amazing VG Donuts in Encinitas. The hand-piped cake with succulents was the star of the show for sure. Think about opting for a smaller cutting-cake and filling in the spaces with individual desserts to minimize cost and add variety to your spread!
